I’m 25 today Tumblr.
As per-usual I celebrate with an NBA player who’s jersey number correlates with said birthday
Anyway.
On being 25:
I used to feel really fucking uncomfortable getting older, especially because in our youth dominated culture it’s kind of hard not to, that and most of my friends are younger than me. (When I think about it, I am the oldest of anyone that I consider to be very very close to me)
I have never really felt that way though. As I have ‘grown up” there has always been people around me who are way more mature, way more adult and in my eyes have their lives way more together than I have my own. I’ve always struggled with trying not to compare my life with others, which is I think, almost impossible.
Looking back though, especially through this blog (just look at the ‘personal.’ tag) I have grown up a little…I suppose…
At 25 I’m thankful for the friends that I have, I still regret a lot of things and feel guilty about a lot of things (which I have been told I really need to stop) I think the people you choose to spend your time with says a lot about who you are. So if my friends are speaking for me, maybe I haven’t turned out so bad.
I’m happy that I am studying and learning all kinds of new things and slowly building a body of work that I can be proud of.
All in all, getting older isn’t so bad.
